In the artisanal and industrial area of Mainvilliers (Eure-et-Loir), at the gates of Chartresthe CGED brand, an electricity wholesaler well known to locals, is now giving way to that of In Caroline’s attic.
Simply a vide-grenier permanenta concept that is attracting more and more fans of good deals, bargains and bargain hunters of all stripes!
From pastry to garage sale
Vanessa Cocherel should only open the Monday, July 4, 2022 (at 2 p.m.) but word of mouth is already working at full capacity, social networks too with a good thousand Facebook subscribers in a few weeks for In Caroline’s attic.
The shelves of the various stands at her permanent garage sale that she is launching in Mainvilliers are filling up at breakneck speed before the opening.
As evidenced by these two Chartraines who were among the first to empty their libraries of read books that they do not want to keep and heaps of trinkets or objects that they want to make someone else happy.
Originally from Eurélienne, Vanessa made a 180° turn by embarking on this entrepreneurial adventure since she was previously… pastry chef !
I had a little boy who is 7 years old today then two twin girls who are 2 1/2 years old and I thought about what I wanted to do next, I did not plan to return to pastry and I I also wanted to fly with my own wings.
A family story
So she embarked on the adventure, taking on board her husband Tristan – who was going to assist her part-time – not forgetting the father, Didier Gasnier, whose expertise in carpentry did wonders for fitting out the vast premises of 900 m2 !
However, one person is missing in this beautiful adventure, the mother, who has disappeared. But it is to her memory that the surname of this new company is dedicated, a mother who transmitted the China virus to her daughter “when we went together to walk around all the garage sales in the region”.
Vanessa made it a point of honor to offer a real setting for 171 stands and open spaces for large objects. Even the furniture is qualitative, it comes from a franchise that has lowered the curtain.
Here, there is no question of a dark, dirty and messed-up “bric-a-brac”, instead of a large, very bright volume “and everything is tidied up when people move objects, which is inevitable”.
Live sales tracking
The concept is very simple, you rent your stand for one to four weeks and each stand represents three shelves 1.25 m wide plus the floor and a 50 cm wardrobe…
Suffice to say that there is already enough to empty your drawers and cupboards, especially since you can then come and restock constantly throughout the duration of the rental.
And, thanks to theapplication maisonthe seller follows the status of his sales live and sees his account credited immediately less the 25% commission per item.
You can bring all the objects you want, within the limits of legality of course, no weapons for example, no food either. There are secure storefronts for people who want to offer jewelry, valuables, digital, hi-fi, video games, etc.
On the website the seller informs as precisely as possible the objects he is selling and, when he arrives, labels are prepared, all that remains is to affix them.
Sellers are free to set the prices they want, the idea being that they stick to the reality of the market as closely as possible so as not to leave with unsold items.
If the concept is so attractive, it is because, unlike traditional garage sales, there is no need to come and set up shop at dawn, to land in a field in the rain or heat wave, to unpack everything to repack in the evening, of duty haggle for 1 euro…
And in terms of security, the entire room is monitored by cameras and has anti-theft devices and storage space.
█ Practical: At Caroline’s attic, permanent garage sale, 9, rue Paul-Langevin in Mainvilliers. Opening on July 4, 2022, until then promotions before the opening to be found on the Facebook page.
