Incredible news. The American space agency has announced the release of a fragrance that reproduces the smell of space. Zoom.
This project is finally born. Indeed, the american space agency, ten years ago, had set up a very serious project for astronauts: to create a perfume with a reproduction of the smell of space. Basically, it was just to be used by astronauts to get used to this ‘special’ smell when they were training on Earth. If this lens did not intend to be marketed, it would seem that the big day has arrived.
The perfume in question was created by Steve Pearce, a chemist but also and the founder ofOmega Ingredients, a company specialized in “creation of the highest quality, origin-based flavors and ingredients for the food and beverage industry”. The latter had been hired 12 years ago, in 2008, by NASA, to develop this fragrance.
But when you are told, the smell of space, what does it make you think of? To put your ideas straight, Matt Richmond, product manager for “Water from Space” tried to describe the so unknown smell of space in a report by CNN.
“Astronauts describe this smell as a mixture of (cannon) powder, very grilled steak, raspberries and rum.”
You can imagine that this new perfume will arouse the curiosity of many of you but will not be marketed like the ones you can buy in perfumery. Indeed, this project could be used for science lessons to make students want to conquer space.
The campaign of finally waged by Kickstarter had a final goal of 1,748 euros. To date, they have raised more than 150,000 euros. A goal successfully carried out therefore. The first bottles should be sold around October 2020 at a price of 26 euros!
But it’s not over … Another perfume, “Smell of the Moon”, this time with the smell of the Moon, would be in preparation!
