A pedestrian finds a corpse at the edge of the forest in Kirchberg (SG)

A pedestrian discovered the body of a man at the edge of the forest on Sunday afternoon in Kirchberg (SG), in Toggenburg. Police confirmed information from blick.ch on Monday, without providing further details.

Shortly before 3:00 p.m., the pedestrian saw a plastic bag on a meadow at the edge of the forest which seemed suspicious to him, a spokesperson for the agency Keystone-ATS said. He alerted the police, who discovered the body of a man inside the bag.

Investigations are underway to try to establish the identity of this person and the cause of his death. Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen something unusual in the run-up to the discovery of the body.
