The child’s mother contacted the police with a report about the disappearance of the child

During the investigation, it was established that the child left the house on his own through an unlocked door.

In the Kirovograd region, a one-year-old boy froze to death. Law enforcers are investigating the circumstances of his death, informs regional office of the National Police on Tuesday, March 9.

It is indicated that on March 6, his mother applied to the police with a statement about the disappearance of the child.

“The child’s body was found on the territory of the village without signs of life. The preliminary cause of death is hypothermia. During the investigation, it was established that the child independently left the house through an unlocked door. Investigative actions continue,” the message says.

Information on this fact was included in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under the article on malicious failure to fulfill the duties of caring for a child or a person in respect of whom guardianship or guardianship has been established (Article 166 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of restriction of freedom for a term of two to five years or imprisonment for the same term.
