Since the first presentation of the design of PlayStation 5 which took place last summer, several users and designers have indulged in creating different mockups of alternative versions of the body of the Sony “monolith”.
Recently, a fan decided to present on reddit a new PlayStation 5 concept with a nostalgic flavor designed to pay homage to the brand’s 30th anniversary, and inspired in paritcolar way by the design of the historic PS2, still the most commercially successful Sony console ever.
As you can see thanks to the screenshots that we reported at the end of the news, this is not an overly articulated mockup as it leaves the imposing shapes intact, limiting itself to repainting the next-gen console in black and adding some typical PlayStation details and symbols. on the body and on the buttons of the DualSense, also reimagined in a dark color. A concept perhaps too simple, but which could be to the liking of lovers of elegant and minimalist designs. What do you think of the work done by whattheefth user? According to Sony’s past statements, PlayStation 5 is a console that it lends itself much more easily to aesthetic customizations compared to its predecessors: it is for this reason that players can expect a large number of limited editions in the coming years. Other users, meanwhile, also enjoy getting their hands in the PS5’s hood: one YouTuber, for example, tried to tamper with the console’s fan and liquid metal to conduct some machine noise test.
