A new batch of 497,250 doses of Pfizer vaccine arrives in Peru | News

A new batch of 497,250 vaccines from the Pfizer laboratory against covid-19 arrived in the country tonight, in order to continue with the vaccination process for all adults in the national territory.

The Minister of Health, Óscar Ugarte, was in charge of supervising the arrival of the doses at the Jorge Chávez airport, on behalf of the Executive Power.

“As we had announced, today we have received 497,250 new doses of vaccines from Pfizer, which are part of the first of three batches of vaccines that we will receive weekly,” he said on his Twitter account.

The Health Minister stated that this delivery allows us to continue the immunization schedule and maintain our good vaccination rate.

This batch is part of the 62 million vaccines that have been contracted so far, apart from those that can be added until the end of July.

A few days ago, Minister Ugarte highlighted that the vaccination rate in Peru has increased significantly, registering more than 160,000 vaccinations per day to date.
