With festivals being canceled due to COVID-19, an architecture student saw an exciting opportunity to bring together music fans on Minecraft. On August 15 and 16 took place the “Lavapalooza”, an electronic music festival on Minecraft! Several DJs performed on a virtual stage and players could watch it live with their avatar.
The festival was hosted by Max Schramp, a student from Hamilton, Ontario. He had already organized a first virtual show for his birthday in 2018 and the success of the event had motivated him to retry the experience on a larger scale.
