A magnitude 4.2 earthquake shook these Bulgarian cities

An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale was registered late last night in the country. This was announced by the Civil Protection. It was most felt in the region of Provadia.

The epicenter of the quake was 6 km southeast of Varna, in the area of ​​Solnitsite near Provadia. It was registered at 22 hours and 51 minutes last night. There is no data on casualties and material damage, the duty officer from the Institute of Seismology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences told “Around the World and in Bulgaria”. The earthquake was also felt in Varna, Dobrich, Devnya, Shumen and Novi Pazar.

Minutes after the quake, an earthquake was registered in Serbia – with a magnitude of 3.5 last night. Weaker tremors also occurred last night in Greece and Slovenia.

According to seismologists from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, there is no connection between the earthquake in our country and those in neighboring countries.
