A lawyer, among the dozen detainees in a three-phase anti-drug operation

The magistrate of Instruction 3 of Ourense, Eva Armesto, received yesterday two detainees for alleged drug trafficking in the city. One of them, a repeat offender, was sent to provisional prison. This week, with a total of 7 arrests by the National Police – 5 detainees were released at the police station itself, without having to go through the court – broke out, the third phase of the ‘Bracelet’ operation. In December, two men who entered prison had been arrested. A kilo of cocaine was then intervened. On December 23, a lawyer fell and was released. After this third action in the same case, there are a dozen allegedly implicated. The amount of drugs seized by the group of narcotics from the provincial police station stands at a total of about 1.5 kilos of cocaine, in addition to other amounts of marijuana and hashish, and money of alleged illicit origin.

Criminal organization

Of the two detainees in this last phase who were brought to justice yesterday, a woman was released, with the obligation to appear every 15 days. The judge issued provisional detention without bail for him, “for a repeat offender,” according to judicial sources. Both remain under investigation for alleged crimes of drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal organization.

They are, therefore, a total of three people in prison out of ten arrested in an operation that gives a new blow to drug retail in the city. The cause was still under secret yesterday, according to the police station.
