According to the lottery, the 30-year-old judoka was supposed to start the 73 kg competition against an opponent from Sudan, but in the second round he could run into the Israeli representative Tohar Butbula. That’s why he preferred to give up his Olympic participation right away and told Algerian television that he “doesn’t want to get his hands dirty”.
