A grant of 125,000 euros has been requested for improvements to the Carolina Coronado theater

From the City Council of Almendralejo, a project has been presented to the Junta de Extremadura for the improvement, modernization and renovation of various elements of the Carolina Coronado theater and that said performances can be financed by a global amount of 125,000 euros. Among other topics, the performances would contemplate the change of motorized rods and some Led spotlights in lighting.

The Councilor for Culture, Domingo Cruz, trusts that the resolution of this project will be favorable and give greater importance to the theater. If they obtain the subsidy, it would be covered with most of the lines required in the theaters.

In the event that this aid is not achieved, from the Almond Town Hall they report that an item of between 25,000 and 30,000 euros is planned to alleviate part of the actions that this project would cover.

On the other hand, Domingo Cruz has confirmed that the technical adaptation actions have already been completed so that the theater can host screenings of the Extremadura Film Library. Acoustically, the theater has been improved and the Blue-ray system that is required for the quality development of this type of projection has also been installed. There is no defined date for the start of the projections, but it is very likely that they will begin in the month of October.

Thanks to the preparation of the theater to host projections, the itinerant Filmoteca de Extremadura would only be the first project of its kind. Culture is working so that educational centers, both institutes and schools, can take advantage of these new facilities to view different projects. In addition, the theater thus becomes a much more multidisciplinary space than before and thus recovers the essence it had in the past when it was a cinema in the 90s.
