A gang of thieves assaults a photo and video camera store in Seville

A gang of thieves attacked the Camaralia store last Monday, a business specialized in professional photography cameras and audiovisual equipment located in the Calonge industrial estate in Seville. The criminals took a good amount of material, which is currently being valued by those responsible for the company. The National Police has opened an investigation into the robbery, without knowing who the perpetrators are so far.

The events occurred around seven in the afternoon on Monday, December 6. The thieves took advantage of the fact that it was a public holiday to, just after nightfall, force the entrance of the business. They cut the bars of the bars with a radial and then broke a window to access the interior. Then they disabled the alarm sensors and did the same with the video surveillance cameras. In this way they managed to steal a large part of the photographic and video material that was in the store.

On Tuesday morning, the owners of the business found everything turned upside down inside. The head of the store, José Manuel Boza, explained this Wednesday to this newspaper that they are taking inventory of the stolen, but the first estimates point to a merchandise valued between 70,000 and 80,000 euros. “The theft occurs at a key time for sales, such as shortly before Christmas and just after Black Friday, when we had a lot of stock in store.”

The company has already filed a complaint with the National Police. The store will remain closed until this Thursday, although service will continue to be provided through the internet, on the website www.camaralia.com. The Scientific Police were conducting a visual inspection on the premises, looking for any biological trace or fingerprint that would help identify the assailants.

Everything stolen can be sold on the black market or through websites and applications for the sale of second-hand objects, as is the case with other types of products that are being stolen at this time, and that can be the subject of gifts. during Christmas. Just a few hours before the assault on this store, there were two other robberies in two separate toy stores in Seville.

Camaralia announced what happened through his social networks. Many professionals in the photography and audiovisual sector, as well as well-known photojournalists in the city, who are usually clients and often work with this store, expressed their messages of rejection of the theft and of encouragement to those responsible for the business.
