A forest art in support of our health

The Beauce-Etchemin Health Foundation (FSBE) has created an art gallery on a corridor of the Saint-Georges hospital. Seventeen paintings are part of the first exhibition on the theme “The forest of life”.

Original idea of the watercolor artist Sophie Ruel, the art gallery brightens up the surrounding space for patients, visitors, professionals and employees of the health network. The sale of the paintings will also help the FSBE to raise funds.

The artists participating in this first exhibition are Soleina Bédard, Louise Champagne, Martine Chassé, the Maheux-Mercier collective, Noé Comtois, Adoul Gabbour, Fanny Gaboury, Carole Giguère, Guylaine Jacques, Marie Jacques, Alain Lapierre, Annabelle Lessard, Johanne Maheux, Julie Potvin, Véronique Rancourt and Sophie Ruel.

“I would like to congratulate and thank each artist for this manifest solidarity with the cause of health that brings us together. Your talent will benefit the well-being of patients in our community. Each of the paintings is on sale for $ 400. Of this amount, a donation of $ 300 will go to the FSBE for the acquisition of medical equipment, ”says Luc-Antoine Manneh, administrator of the FSBE and responsible for the art gallery.

Initiated in February 2020, this project came to fruition with the support of Martin Plante (Construction MGP), the members of the FSBE committee (Isabelle Beaulieu, Luc-Antoine Manneh, Luce Dallaire) and the CISSS de Chaudière-Appalaches.

“Thank you to the artists who, with good heart and almost voluntarily, subscribed to this great initiative. Without their participation, we would not be here. The art gallery will see the birth of many other projects over time. It is an open door and a cultural showcase of which we are proud, ”says Manon Veilleux, President of the FSBE.
