On Wednesday, Spain was the first member of the European Union – and sixth country in the world – to reach the milestone of one million coronavirus infections, with 1,005,295 cases. This is evident from the daily figures of the Ministry of Health.

The country has registered 16,973 cases and 156 deaths in the last 24 hours. This brings the total death toll to 34,366. Currently more than 1,900 patients are in a critical condition in hospitals.
Spain, with its 47 million inhabitants, has already carried out 15.5 million tests.
Motion of distrust
On Thursday there will be a vote in parliament on a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s left-wing government. He would have handled the pandemic incorrectly or negligently and misused it to seize power. The motion has little chance according to Spanish media.
