A few days after his death, a Saudi attends his wife’s graduation party

In a scene of love and loyalty, Muhammad Mutlaq Al-Ashiqer, dean of the Faculty of Law, founder and former academician, tried to hold back tears as he announced the name of his wife, who died before her honor ceremony from the university, but these tears refused to come as soon as she received her certificate of honour.

He described these moments to Al-Arabiya.net, saying, “The day of honor is a day my wife and I have been waiting for a long time, may God have mercy on her. Her ambition was to complete her studies master even though she was employed, and this ambition remained there until she found the university that fulfilled her ambition.” She began her studies during the Corona pandemic with all seriousness and diligence, and concluded her studies by defending her master’s thesis “during her illness”, in which she received the praise and admiration of all.

He added: ‘I was with her through all stages of her studies and God helped me to support her financially, psychologically and intellectually until she reached this stage. Then I applied to attend the graduation ceremony just before her graduation. I felt fear after that request and feared that she would not be present at the honoring ceremony, which is what actually happened. She did not receive her full results before the ceremony, and I told her that she had received her master’s degree while was on her deathbed, and she smiled a smile that warmed my heart.”

She continued, “God intended her to leave a few days before the graduation ceremony, and I wished she would be present and witness her success herself, and this matter still grips my heart.”

He said, “I came because I called her Anna, because to me she was me, because I find that even though I’ve moved from this world, she’s still in my heart and I feel her presence around me.”

He continued: “Despite the physical fatigue and psychological pain at that moment, I felt the need for my presence, as if there was something inside me that was pushing me with force. She deserves that honor and she deserves my presence. She is an example of honor, appreciation, love and respect.”

He pointed out that he graduated from 3 universities, “and I didn’t attend a single ceremony after my graduation, and his honor ceremony is the first honor ceremony I attended, because his honor and graduation ceremony was all for me”.
