And bus driver from Tip network in Rouen (Seine-Maritime), Guillaume Levasseurfinished fourth in the final of the Golden Bus competition 2022. This national competition, organized since 1988, was held during the European mobility expo fair from June 7 to 9 in Paris. It puts drivers of urban public transport networks in competition through theoretical and practical tests.
A passion since childhood
55 participants were assessed on six qualification tests: MCQ, driving technique on the circuit, impact in terms of sustainable development, accessibility, service relationship in real conditions on an RATP line in Paris. Guillaume Levasseur therefore finished among the best French drivers with a faultless MCQ and on the obstacle course.
“I had a lot of fun taking part in the Bus d’Or competition and finishing fourth is really incredible,” he says. It’s like accomplishing a professional goal. It must be said that for him, driving buses is a childhood dream. “To go to college, I took the bus and I always sat in front to watch the driver. I then told my comrades that it would be my job later. I have been passionate about driving since I was little, my parents passed on this passion to me. »
Daily on Rouen lines
Guillaume Levasseur began his career with Transdev within VTNI, in several positions, which notably enabled him to travel across Europe for a few years. He has been a commercial driving agent for three years with Transdev Rouen-Tcar and drives trams, Teors and buses on the Tips network lines on a daily basis as a flying driver.
Its result is a great showcase for Transdev. He was congratulated by Guillaume Aribaud, Managing Director Transdev Rouen-Tcar on behalf of the “1,200 employees of the company”. “Having a flexible and agile driving experience on a daily basis means allowing our travelers to have the most comfortable journeys while traveling in safety,” he said. This is our daily commitment! »
The company also specifies that the 700 drivers of the Tip network follow regular driving and even eco-driving training with the arrival of electric buses. They are also made aware every month of the risks associated with driving and welcoming customers. Now they also have an example to follow.
