A Coruña: Marqués de Pontejos will be pedestrian “in the medium term” | Radio Coruña

The City Council will turn Marqués de Pontejos street into a pedestrianized street, despite the opposition of merchants, placeras and neighbors. The councilor of Emprego, Alberto Lema, nevertheless points out that the prohibition of this street to road traffic will not take place until a new pedestrian access from Panaderas to the San Agustín market is launched.

There will be pedestrianization, but in the medium term. It is Alberto Lema’s position in the face of criticism from the neighborhood that he does not find anything positive about the change. The perception of the local government is very different, which considers that it will serve to revitalize the area within a global rehabilitation plan.
