A compromising video for the Giants?

The New York Giants are having another miserable season, but that may not stop their players from celebrating, risking their health.

Several local media reported on a Friday night supper, which was attended by quarterback Daniel Jones, running back Saquon Barkley and other club athletes. According to NJ.com, the group had a meal inside a private dining room before heading to a bar in town, where videos were allegedly filmed. In fact, these show Jones and Barkley without a mask on their faces, which would constitute a violation of the NFL rules on social distancing.

However, the sequence posted on Instagram by an individual – DJ Lugghead – was eventually removed from social media after it went viral. The man in question defended himself by asserting on a daily basis New York Post that the photos shown were from last year. On the other hand, the ESPN network for its part reported that the group of players had indeed gone to a bar, the Common Ground, where a video showing Jones sharing a drink with a woman was made.

In addition, another sequence features Barkley strolling down the street on his bicycle; however, the running back is on the sidelines due to a knee injury.

Penalties to be expected, if …

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Giants said they had read this information. “We are looking at the nature and context of the video,” they said.

Earlier this season, the NFL fined 10 Las Vegas Raiders color bearers for breaches of COVID-19 protection protocol rules. If the officials of the affected team or the league can determine that the videos are from Friday and not from 2019, penalties could be imposed on the offenders.

The Giants have lost six of their seven games this year and will return to action on 1is November by hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
