More than six decades have passed since the birth of the compensation funds and with them multiple benefits for workers and their families; benefits that are represented not only in basic aspects such as housing, health and education but in other areas that contribute to the integral well-being of families, including recreation, culture and tourism.
So much has been its growth and so interesting its reception by the population that, according to the National Association of Family Compensation Funds, Asocajas, more than 14 million people are affiliated with the General Health System through the compensation funds, a figure that represents a third of the national total. And of these, 37% belong to the contributory health regime and 26% to the subsidized.
Compensate, in particular, the youngest fund in the system continues to strengthen its health and wellness services so that more Colombians can improve their quality of life. This is how from the EPS, it continues to expand its impact and coverage, which allowed it to close 2019 with more than 1,500,000 members and a positive balance.
These are some achievements to highlight:
To facilitate the access of its members to the services, located in different areas, Compensar Salud opened four new offices in Bogotá: Ciudad Bolívar, Venecia, Chapinero and Iberia, as well as the integral San Roque headquarters, between Cajicá and Chía, and arrived by First time to Villavicencio with its own headquarters.
The confidence of its users was evidenced in the results of the annual satisfaction survey conducted by the Ministry of Health, where it was the best qualified EPS. A result that, without a doubt, is part of a positive count that demonstrates how patients are at the center of their innovative health and wellness model.
2020 is envisioned as a year full of challenges and, of course, projects that will allow Compensar Salud to continue advancing on the path of continuous improvement, to meet not only the expectations of those who receive the services, but also the Encouragement to continue being a relevant actor in the health system, participating in the different strategies and initiatives of the National Government aimed at contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of Colombians.
Some of the big bets for this year are focused on its expansion objectives, which highlights the opening of a new headquarters in Barranquilla. In addition to this, it will continue advancing in the consolidation of the model of networks and micro networks, in its process of digital transformation and in the implementation of telehealth services.
The construction of infrastructure projects is also part of the purposes of this year, as well as the launch of a new additional health plan, the strengthening of the network of care available to affiliates from EPS settled in other regions of the country and permanent work for the humanization of the service.
All of the above, gives an account of a 2020 vision in terms of health that reaffirms the commitment of the Family Compensation Fund Compensate for contributing to the consolidation of a healthy, productive and happy society.
