A client of a tripe market appealed to the District Court in Veliko Tarnovo for a sentence of 2 years in prison and BGN 3,000 in compensation for inflicting moderate bodily harm. The case is scheduled for the week after Easter, and the claims against it are against 31-year-old Ivo I.
The District Court in Veliko Tarnovo found the defendant Ivo I. guilty that on October 22, 2020 in the area of the Central Cooperative Market, under the conditions of recurrence, he caused RD a traumatic fracture of two consecutive teeth in the area of the right half of the lower jaw and a cut wound on the face, which together have led to disfigurement of the face.
On the afternoon of October 2 years ago, the victim had ordered tripe soup and beer at the pub where Ivo and his brother and daughter-in-law were staying. The two knew each other. At one point, the defendant decided that the man was looking at his daughter-in-law and trying to talk to her. He became enraged and jumped to ask him for an account. They pulled away. Then Ivo grabbed a piece of glass from a beer bottle broken in the quarrel and threw it in the face of the intruder. The other tried to turn, but failed and the glass hit him on the right side of the face. Blood flowed. After recovering from the pain, he took a taxi to MOBAL – Veliko Tarnovo. There his wound was washed and sutured.

cosmetic defect with a formed motor deficit, which together have led to the threat to the person, visually perceptible from near and far, “the statement said.
The Court of First Instance sentenced Ivo I. to two years’ imprisonment under the initial general regime. The verdict was handed down in absentia. The disfigured person filed a civil claim for BGN 12,000, but the court assessed the damages inflicted on him only in the amount of BGN 3,000, together with the legal interest from the date of the damage until the final payment.
