An agreement on a humanitarian ceasefire was reached between Azerbaijani and Armenian officials through the US State Department. Both sides in the conflict have also reaffirmed their commitment to the agreement reached on 10 October in Moscow, the Russian capital.

However, the British broadcaster BBC reports that tensions in the region are not easing and fighting is continuing.

Representatives of the Armenian Ministry of Defense said the opponent fired on Armenian positions in the conflict zone on Monday morning, but official Baku blamed Armenian forces for similar violations. Even before the ceasefire regime came into force, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, announced the occupation of a district center. During the fighting, the Azerbaijani army allegedly occupied a total of 5 important settlements in Nagorno-Karabakh.
