A car skids and ends up crushed under a trailer

The high speed could explain a serious car accident in an industrial area on the island of Montreal, leaving two young men in a state still considered “serious” on Tuesday.

“It must have been going sick, to see all the traces. By finishing their run they managed to move my trailer six inches [de 53 pieds] which was parked, filled with mattresses. You have to do it, anyway! »Exclaims its owner, David Brunelle, pointing out the damage.

The vehicle finished its course under the trailer of a store on Boulevard Thimens, in the Saint-Laurent borough, in Montreal.

The collision occurred around 2 a.m. on Thimens Boulevard in the Saint-Laurent borough. The 25-year-old driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle as he was traveling southbound in a curve.

The car then crossed the median separating the boulevard, to strike a sidewalk. It continued on its path to crash into the trailer which was parked, its momentum then being slowed down by the shrouds of an electric pole.

The images of the scene make it possible to imagine the violence of the accident. The roof of the white automobile was completely severed by the trailer. According to the findings of Journal, on the spot, the car would have skidded for a distance of a little less than 100 meters.

“Magnet”

“They were really ‘badlucked’ to hit my trailer. At the very beginning of the accident, they passed right by a lamppost and narrowly missed it. It looked like their tank was magnetized to my trailer. A chance that there were the shrouds, otherwise they would have continued on their way, ”laments David Brunelle, owner of the Club Matelas business, located in front of the scene of the accident.

The latter was still at work when the accident occurred, but only learned of the event when help was on the scene. He was able to speak with a witness to the scene.

“He wasn’t too far away and he saw it all. He told me that it was rolling its foot on the bottom and that they crossed the median like a ball, ”says Brunelle.

Ongoing investigation

The driver and his passenger, a man in his twenties, were taken to hospital in a condition deemed “serious”, but stable, said the Police Department of the City of Montreal (SPVM).

Collision investigators were deployed to shed light on the event.

“The investigation is continuing. All hypotheses are considered, ”said Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the SPVM, not ruling out that speed could be involved.

It was also impossible to say if the driver could face dangerous driving charges.
