For Sid, 87, the drug is a dose of freedom after months locked up in the center to avoid getting infected. He and 60 other residents have welcomed the puncture from Pfizer. Margarita Crockem, the director of the senior center, says she was excited to learn that they would receive the vaccine and that they were not expected to be on the list, so it is a day of celebration. No one has turned down the opportunity. Everyone is aware that getting immunized is the only way to regain the long-awaited normalcy that allows them to safely see their loved ones again.
