The 47-year-old Bulgarian K.R. is the scarecrow of the railways and passengers in northern Italy, as he has spent time on trains for many weeks to apply their sudden brakes. As a result, dozens of trains recorded continuous delays of hours. According to the Stampa newspaper, the Bulgarian was already known by the nickname “the serial” brake “of trains”.

The last blow of the Bulgarian, who did not have a home in Italy, was a few days ago. The man boarded the regional train in the Piedmont region and, using a method well known to him, pulled the handle of the train’s emergency brake shortly after he left Ronco Scrivia station. As a result, the train arrived at Principe station 57 minutes late.

According to the railway police, there have been at least 18 such episodes leading to the Bulgarian since the beginning of the year. However, there are so many more that have been reported by Trenitalia and that are from an unknown perpetrator, but it is assumed that they are also about the Bulgarian.

According to the railway police, the Bulgarian usually acted in the same way on the trains in Liguria, Piedmont and Lombardy. He got on at a station, waited for the train to pick up speed, and then activated the quick stop device. During some of his “tours” on the trains, he even pulled several brakes one after the other in the different carriages. He caused delays of more than an hour. A lawsuit has now been filed against the Bulgarian for interrupting a public service. With the help of internal video recordings, the police have reached the episodes in which the Bulgarian pulled the brakes in the last few months.

However, the man also liked to break train windows. Recently, he has appeared in another field – aviation. The Bulgarian also managed to stop a Ryanair plane that took off from Orio al Serio airport. The Bulgarian, enchanted by alcohol, tried to find the emergency brake on the plane, as a result of which he caused disturbances on board. This caused the flight commander to return the plane to the airport and drop the passenger. In this case, too, a lawsuit was filed against him for interrupting a public service.
