The wife of the deceased told Belsat that on Friday the 41-year-old had been operated on for the third time since beatingand the apparatus kept him alive.

Kuzniacou reportedly told the ambulance crew that he had been beaten in custody by officers. After he was put on a ventilator in the hospital, he never regained consciousness.

The deceased’s family emphasizes that he was not a conflict man and does not know why he was arrested in Minsk and whether he participated in any protests. The day he lost contact, Kuzniacou left for work and said he would be back the next day.

“Usually my husband would go to work for a few days. We knew he would not be there. But we couldn’t even imagine that something like this would happen to him. They just called us from the hospital … We were told at the hospital that he had managed to tell the doctors that that he was beaten by militiamen. And the policemen said that he fell from a bunk bed in a cell. Although we understand that it is impossible with such injuries “- explains Kuzniacou’s wife in an interview with Belsat.

According to the TUT.by portal, according to the official version of the services, Kuzniacou was supposed to be detained for “petty hooliganism”. The circumstances of his death are being investigated by the Investigative Committee Biaorusi.
