With three centre-backs practically certain in Tite’s choices for the 2022 World Cup – Thiago Silva (Chelsea), Marquinhos (PSG) and Éder Militão (Real Madrid) – there is still a vacancy for the center of the canarian defense to be filled. In this sense, Tite looks to Lucas Veríssimo as a hypothesis.
The Benfica centre-back is recovering from an injury suffered last season and will be the subject of an evaluation by Matheus Bachi (assistant) and Fábio Mahseredijan (physical trainer) who will visit Lisbon between 23 and 25 August. According to balloonsportthe expectation of the duo is to evaluate the defender and, if possible, see the player in action, which could only happen in the second leg match of the Champions League play-off, with Dynamo Kiev (23 August).
In addition to Lucas Veríssimo, Felipe (Atlético Madrid), Bremer (Juventus) and Ibañez (Roma) will also be evaluated in loco by Tite’s technical team. To these are added the names of Gabriel Magalhães (Arsenal), Leo Ortiz (Bragantino) and Rodrigo Caio (Flamengo) as a plausible chance to grab the last spot for the 2022 World Cup.
