Sporting’s new General Assembly takes place this Saturday due to the lead of reports and accounts for the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons. The agenda had only two items: voting on the reports and accounts for 2019/2020 and 2020/2021, both rejected on 30 September. At the end of the night it was learned that the partners had approved the two documents with a vote of 83.94 percent and 84.5 percent of the votes, respectively.

«I’ll talk about the results when I know, at the end. As for membership, it is positive to see that the partners are concerned about Sporting. I’m calm, as I always have been,” he told reporters.
7.30 pm: Voting is closed. Remember that members who are in the queues at this time still have the right to vote.
18.31 hours: The members’ interventions end. Voting will continue until 7.30 pm.
18.25 hours. Salgado Zenha, responsible for the financial area, provided some clarifications to the partners.
“In relation to material uncertainty, it doesn’t exist in the club, but in SAD. And unfortunately, there has been practically always during the history of SAD, something that we’ve been catching up with over the years. The only time the auditor announced that there were serious risks to the continuity of SAD’s activity was in the summer of 2018, for the reasons we know [invasão à Academia de Alcochete]. That yes, was the worst moment. As for the changed accounts, we came to vote on exactly the same accounts, because we were careful to re-evaluate these accounts and we had a new statement from the auditors, who were confident with their certification. There were no changes, no re-audit will be necessary», he concluded.
6.02 pm: The last phase begins for the members to speak
5.30 pm: New break in the General Meeting. At 6 pm, the last phase begins, in which the members are given the opportunity to speak.
5.20 pm: Luís Gestas, former member of Bruno de Carvalho’s Board of Directors, used the word: «I’m here for my duty of militancy in Sporting, out of respect for you and out of respect for the history of this club. And it is out of respect for this story that I will not give any kind of consideration to the work of this governing council. Let’s leave the base criticisms when we discuss the electoral programs. In a few months we will have elections and then we will discuss projects and people. I will vote in favor of the budget because Sporting’s accounts have to be above all else. The modalities deserve it».
5:15 pm: Filipe Soares Franco, president of Sporting between 2005 and 2009, spoke to journalists while in line. “I don’t believe the accounts are not approved. The partners are aware of the excellent work that President Varandas’ team is doing. It is essential to approve these accounts,” he said, addressing the criticisms that the current Directorate has been subjected to: “I don’t understand, it is something that should be done at the end of the mandate, not before. Furthermore, if the accounts are correct, there is no reason not to approve”.
5 pm: Mustafa, leader of the Leonina Youth, is also in line to exercise the right to vote
17 hours: Jobs are resumed. There are four member applications to speak.
16.32 hours: Pause until 5 pm regarding interventions. Voting continues to take place.

15:43 hours: Registration until 16 hours and then the GA resumes.
3:42 pm: Rogério Alves: «Obviously there are no first, second or third members. All people have the same right to dignity, opinion and the right to speak out. If there was a need for clearer proof, this is what has happened in this House, where people talk about freedom. I only appeal to good education so that it is possible to listen to one another.”
3:34 pm: Rogério Alves answered some questions.
15:32 hours: The members’ interventions are over.
3:05 pm: The partners will speak again, but there are only three registered. Partners who have already spoken have the possibility of speaking again.

14:07 hours: The partners have the right to speak again.
13:53 hours: Former president Dias da Cunha is also at the João Rocha Pavilion, having been chatting with Frederico Varandas.
13:40 hours: Ferro Rodrigues is also at the João Rocha Pavilion.
13:32 hours: Frederico Varandas, president of Sporting, explained to the partners: «Good afternoon. I come to answer the few questions that they asked me directly, in addition to those answered by Francisco Zenha. There was a common denominator that is important to clarify. Today the number of 20 million euros in debt of SAD to the club has been mentioned several times. It is recurrent that a rumor is made public, a lie, and then people are convinced that telling a lie many times will make it true, but it will never be true. It’s not 20 million euros, it’s 300 thousand euros”
13:20 hours: Francisco Salgado Zenha (vice-president of Sporting): «Whoever is voting against is not voting against this board but against Sporting»
