Pizzi lost the title battle in the eleven of Benfica this season, but is far from being defeated and throwing the towel to the ground in a season that is still in the forecourt.
Even little used in this 2021/2022 League (7 appearances, two in the starting line-up – Arouca and Tondela -, five as a substitute – Gil Vicente, Santa Clara, Boavista, V. Guimarães and Vizela), the 32-year-old midfielder is making his mark indelible and in the game the day before yesterday, in Vizela, he helped to untie the knot with a great pass for Rafa to rescue three points in which few already believed.
It was Pizzi’s third assist in the league, with just 183 minutes of use, a number that catapulted him to the throne of players with the most assists in the squad, which he shares with Rafa. Pizzi is signing a goal pass every 61 minutes; in other words, it takes an average of one hour to have a positive influence on the Luz team’s score.
