Benfica will not return, on its own initiative, to negotiations with SC Braga for the transfer of Al Musrati. The reds consider that the position of the Minho is inflexible in relation to the assessment – €20 million – of the Libyan defensive midfielder and, therefore, are studying alternatives.
Only in the case of António Salvador, president of SC Braga, taking the initiative and lowering the demands, Benfica will resume the matter.
Al Musrati is interested in moving to Benfica and was Jorge Jesus’ first choice to reinforce the team in the defensive midfield position. The clubs even negotiated the entry of players considered surplus by Jorge Jesus in the business.
Chiquinho is Carlos Carvalhal’s favorite, but the attacking midfielder has other options that he prefers. There was, on the other hand, no understanding regarding the evaluation of players who could enter the transaction. Right-back João Ferreira (negotiated with V. Guimarães, page 20) and defensive midfielder Alfa Semedo were discussed between the clubs.
