On the 2nd, Fukuoka Prefecture police arrested Rie Ikari (39) and their acquaintance Emiko Akahori (48) on the charges of killing an injured person in charge of protection on the 2nd, according to the Japan Mainichi newspaper on the 5th local time.
Ikari and Akahori got to know each other when they sent their children to the same kindergarten in April 2016.
Afterwards, Akahori became close to Ikari and intervened deeply in Ikari’s family.
In May 2019, she lied to Ikari that her husband was cheating and divorced her.
In addition, Ikari regulated the amount of meals and cost of living for families.
Until now, it is estimated that the money Akahori has taken from Ikari is over 10 million yen (approximately 100 million won).
According to a police investigation, Akahori told Ikari not to feed her children when they weren’t listening.
He also lied, saying, “I have CCTV installed at home,” and said, “I’m monitoring it.”
Because of this, the 5-year-old group A, who died in April last year, only drank water for 10 days.
A pediatrician said, “If a 5-year-old had only drank water for 10 days, it would have been hazy.”
He added, “I wonder if Army A was in a state where he could hardly get up,” he added. “It must have been a life threatening situation.”
When Group A died, he weighed about 10kg, about half the weight of his peers.
Ikari’s other two children were also known to be malnourished.
A police official said, “It seems that Ikari was being ruled by Akahori.”
Currently, Akahori does not admit the charges.
