Jan Kriekels Unveils Uchronia Ark: A 3,000 m² Haven for Human Creativity
Diepenbeek, Belgium – Entrepreneur Jan Kriekels, founder of heating manufacturer Jaga, has launched Uchronia Ark, a sprawling 3,000 square meter space dedicated to fostering inspiration at the intersection of recycling, industrial art, and pop art. The ark aims to be a central hub for the creative economy and a platform for artists of all disciplines.
Kriekels envisions Uchronia ark as more than just an exhibition space. “Workshops, exhibitions, meetings and team building can also take place, which makes Uchronia Ark the largest open platform for all creative minds in our country,” he stated.
A Rejection of Algorithmic Culture
Kriekels, the driving force behind the project, describes Uchronia Ark as a sanctuary for “pure human creativity.” he believes current artistic and cultural landscapes are increasingly dominated by commercial interests and driven by data and algorithms.
“Uchronia Ark should become a place where creativity is experienced in its purest form,” Kriekels explained. “Where creative souls, the Uchronians, come together and merge. We want to show what the true nature of culture and creativity is.”
The Ark’s mission is to provide an alternative – a space to disconnect from what Kriekels calls an “oppressive system” and reconnect with the power of the human mind. He specifically emphasized the importance of human ingenuity over artificial intelligence, stating, “Not AI and Chat GPT, but the human brain is the key to true culture.”
Kriekels hopes to cultivate a vibrant “Uchronia community” fueled by “quantum energy,” making the space accessible to artists from all backgrounds.
Uchronia Ark represents a bold statement about the future of art and creativity, prioritizing human connection and authentic expression in an increasingly digital world.
We want to create a creative Uchronia community, with quantum energy, accessible to every artist.
