Laura Dern Reveals Hilarious discomfort Over⁤ long-Lost ‌’Grizzly II‘⁤ Role

HOLLYWOOD, CA – Laura Dern, the Academy award-winning actress known for‍ roles in Jurassic Park, Big Little⁣ Lies, and Marriage Story, has publicly‍ recounted ‌her embarrassment over appearing in the notoriously unfinished and recently resurfaced film, Grizzly II: The Concert. The 1986 production, a sequel ‌to the 1976 ‍film Grizzly, remained largely unseen for decades before a limited release in ‍2020.

Dern, then 16, ‍starred alongside a then-unknown George Clooney and Charlie Sheen in the low-budget ‌creature feature. The film, following the Jaws formula with a rampaging bear⁤ instead⁢ of a⁢ shark, was plagued‍ with production ‍issues and⁤ ultimately deemed a ⁢failure even before its delayed debut. ⁣

“Okay, first⁢ of all, dude, that is fucking hysterical! I didn’t even ⁤know what it was called until you said it, and yet I⁣ know⁤ exactly what ⁤you’re talking about,” ⁢Dern told ⁢ AV Club when asked about the film. She admitted to never having⁣ watched the ⁢complete movie, stating, “The last I heard from george Clooney… is that the whole movie is all⁢ of 40 minutes ⁣long, and no one’s ever actually seen it. It’s not even really long enough to call it a movie.”

While Clooney’s estimate was‌ inaccurate – the ‌film clocks⁤ in at 74 ⁣minutes – Dern’s discomfort is ⁤palpable. She described the experience as a six-week shoot in⁤ Budapest,‌ Hungary, “at ⁢the exact second communism is ending,” alongside Clooney and Sheen.⁤ She added, “the only thing I⁣ can say about it… I’m‍ 16 years old… and the paprika chicken was outstanding.”‌

Dern’s early filmography includes Ladies and Gentlemen,⁢ The Fabulous Stains and later roles in Smooth talk and Wild at Heart. Grizzly⁢ II: The Concert remains a ‍notable, and apparently regrettable, footnote in her illustrious career.
