Quiet community turns to ‘chaos’ as 81-year-old killed in Fazakerley hit and run

An 81-year-old man‍ died after being struck by‍ a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in Fazakerley, Liverpool, on December 5, turning a quiet community into a scene ‍of “chaos,” according to local residents. Police were called to the scene on Longmoor Lane at approximately 6:20 PM⁣ following reports of a collision involving a⁣ pedestrian and a car.

The ​victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Merseyside police‍ have launched an investigation into the ⁢incident and are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage. The incident has deeply shaken the Fazakerley community, ⁣known for its peaceful atmosphere. A vehicle failed to stop at the scene, prompting⁤ a police search for⁤ both ⁢the car⁣ and the driver.

Police have released ⁤a reference number for anyone with information: 0620​ of December 5. They urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who has any information that could assist the‌ investigation, to come forward.
