Nintendo Life Launches 2025 Community Game of the Year Voting for Switch & Switch 2
Nintendo Life has opened voting for its annual community-ranked Top 50 Switch games of the year, now expanded to include titles released on both the original Switch and the newly launched Switch 2. The initiative, launched in December, invites users to rate games released throughout 2025.
The ranking is based on User Ratings within the Nintendo Life database, creating a “living” list of the year’s best titles. Nintendo Life also compiles a staff GOTY list featuring individual top fives, but prioritizes the community’s collective opinion.
Users can rate games they’ve played by assigning a score out of 10 via the star rating system next to each title. The site encourages users to utilize the search bar to locate and rate all eligible games. All Switch and Switch 2 games released in 2025 with a score of 6/10 or higher are eligible for inclusion.
Notable 2025 releases include hollow Knight: Silksong, and the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 platform itself.
The final Top 50 list will be published later in the month, and games released between now and the end of the year still have the opportunity to be included.Nintendo life requests that users report any missing games to ensure a thorough database. Previous year’s winners are archived on the site, showcasing the top-rated games from each year of the switch’s lifespan.
