Maná Announces 19 New Dates for Vivir Sin Aire Tour, Including Southern California Shows
Los Angeles, CA – Mexican rock icons Maná are extending their massively popular Vivir Sin Aire tour with 19 new dates, bringing their high-energy performances back to Southern California.The declaration follows a sold-out show at the Kia forum on saturday night, further cementing the band’s legendary status in the region.
Fans will have multiple opportunities to see Maná live. The Honda Center in Anaheim will host the band on June 5 and 6. Additional Southern California stops include the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert on September 26 and the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista on October 10. Maná will also return to the kia Forum on September 18 and 19.
these upcoming performances will expand Maná’s record for most arena shows in the Los Angeles area to 47, building on the milestone they surpassed on November 21st, when their 43rd L.A.-area concert broke bruce Springsteen’s previous record.
Recognizing the band’s deep connection to Los Angeles,a permanent wall installation now adorns the backstage area of the Kia Forum,proclaiming “Mana – Kings of L.A.” Maná’s history with the city includes over 30 shows at the Forum and an remarkable run of 11 consecutive sold-out concerts at Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena) in 2012, supporting their album Drama Y Luz. The band was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016.
Speaking with The Times prior to their November 21st Forum show, lead singer Fher Olvera reflected on the band’s relationship with Los Angeles. “L.A.has always been very influential for us… and we’ve seen the city evolve,” he said.
Olvera also addressed the band’s message to their Latino fans amidst ongoing political challenges.”Right now our message [to our Latino fans] is to have faith, do not despair… Like the Buddhists say, ‘Everything shall pass.’ And these problems will also pass and thankfully it won’t take too long [as] presidential terms don’t last so long – even though this term has felt like five minutes underwater,” he added.
