von Essen Dominates at Sweden International Horse Show with Personal Best Freestyle
Maria von Essen adn Invoice delivered a stunning performance at the Sweden International Horse Show, claiming victory in the CDI4* Stockholm Dressage Trophy Grand Prix Freestyle and setting a new personal best score of 82.550 percent. The win marks their second triumph at the competition.
Von Essen’s ride was further highlighted by a rare perfect 10 awarded for her freestyle music, borrowed from her trainer, Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour.
“Invoice felt fantastic and he is so steady now, even with everything going on around the arena,” said von Essen. “I’ve borrowed the freestyle music from my trainer, Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour, and I’m very happy for that.riding a freestyle is difficult and hitting the music at the right moment every time is a real challenge. But today everything flowed. It wasn’t rushed nor did we fall behind.”
The podium was exclusively Swedish, with all three riders having represented Sweden at the European Championships in Crozet earlier this year. tinne Vilhelmson silfvén and Hyatt secured second place,achieving a personal best of 79.070 percent.
“I’m really pleased; Hyatt felt more confident today and she just gets braver and braver.this journey with her is something special,” Vilhelmson Silfvén commented.
Sofie Lexner and Inoraline W rounded out the top three with a polished programme set to music by two-time Eurovision winner Loreen, earning a score of 77.410 percent – narrowly missing a new personal best.
“Riding a freestyle in this arena is an incredible feeling, and doing it together with Nora was just magical,” Lexner shared.
All three riders have their sights set on qualifying for the Swedish team for the 2025 FEI World Championships in Aachen.
“we’ll plan carefully to prepare in the best possible way for that,” von Essen stated.
