BISMARCK, ND – Thousands will trade Thanksgiving morning feasts for fitness as the annual Turkey Trot returns to Bismarck tomorrow. The 36th running of the 5k race will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Association (CFA) of North Dakota, providing crucial support for local families navigating the challenges of the disease.
More than 1,800 runners and walkers have already registered for the event, with organizers hoping to raise $85,000. Participants will gather along Arbor Avenue near the Bismarck Elks lodge, just off Washington St., for the 9:15 a.m. start. This year’s event will feature only the 5k race due to ongoing rail bridge construction.
“What it does is it helps support our families for medication, travel and appointments,” explained Pat Thompson, Development Director for CFA. “right now, my daughter is going to college, and it helps fund some of her college experience. It is indeed just a great non-profit that helps so many breathe easier with this disease.”
On-site registration will be available tomorrow morning, and parking will be accessible at the Elks Lodge,Natural Grocers, and Family Fare.
