Trump Denies Supporting Putin as Ukraine Faces new Deadline for peace Talks Amidst Continued Attacks
KYIV, ukraine – Former U.S. President Donald Trump is facing criticism for a 28-point peace plan proposed for Ukraine, with a deadline of November 27th for Ukrainian President Zelenskyy to agree to teh terms. The plan’s emergence coincides with intensified Russian air strikes on Kyiv, including overnight attacks utilizing hypersonic missiles, cruise missiles, and combat drones, resulting in at least one death and seven injuries.
The proposed peace plan, announced late Wednesday, November 20th, has drawn fire from european leaders and Republicans alike, casting doubt on its viability. Simultaneously, negotiations are underway in Geneva between the U.S., Ukraine, and European allies. Though, the original deadline appears unlikely to be met. This growth occurs as Ukraine continues to defend itself against the Russian invasion, which began in February 2022 with support from Western nations.
According to Ukrainian officials, including Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, recent attacks have targeted residential buildings, causing fires and necessitating evacuations, such as the complete evacuation of a 22-story high-rise on Tuesday, November 25th. Despite ongoing peace talks, Russia continues nightly attacks on Ukrainian cities with rockets, glide bombs, and drones.
