UAlbany Men’s Basketball to Compete in Canada
The University at Albany men’s basketball team will embark on a three-game road trip north of the border, facing Colgate, Fordham, and SUNY Oneonta in a series of contests beginning November 28th. The games will be played consecutively, offering a challenging early-season test for the Great Danes.
This trip provides UAlbany with valuable non-conference competition as they prepare for America East play. The matchups against Colgate (November 28th at 3:30 p.m.), Fordham (November 29th at 7:30 p.m.), and Oneonta (November 30th at 1:00 p.m.) will offer opportunities to evaluate player advancement and refine team strategies.
Opponent Previews
Colgate enters the contest averaging 75.8 points, 31.5 rebounds, 12.8 assists, and 6.3 steals per game, shooting 48.3% from the floor and 32.5% from three-point range. Jalen Cox leads the Raiders with an average of 17.2 points per game on 54.9% shooting, supported by Andrew Alekseyenko (15.5 ppg) and Sam Wright (14.2 ppg on 57.4% shooting).
Fordham currently holds a 4-2 record, averaging 77.7 points, 47.2 rebounds, 17.7 assists,and 7.8 steals per game. Notably, the Rams boast the 13th-ranked defense nationally, allowing just 60.2 points per game. DeJour reaves paces Fordham with 16.0 points per game, while Rikus Schulte contributes 11.5 points and 8.8 rebounds, shooting 60.9% from the field.
The final game of the trip will be against SUNY Oneonta,who average 74.6 points, 39.2 rebounds,12.4 assists, and 8.0 steals per game, shooting 42.1% overall and 33.6% from three. Kobe Long leads Oneonta with 16.2 points per game,followed by Delano Knox (13.0 points, 7.7 rebounds) and Cam LaClair (11.2 points).
