Title: Thitikul Leads CME Tour Championship After Record Round

NAPLES,⁣ Fla. – Jeeno Thitikul‌ surged into a three-shot lead Friday at the⁤ LPGA Tour ⁢Championship, carding a blistering ‌9-under 63 to reach 14-under 130 through two rounds. The defending champion’s‌ performance at Tiburon Golf Club was⁢ highlighted by nine birdies and a bogey-free round.

Thitikul’s dominant ‍display puts ⁤her in a strong position in the season-ending event, which crowns the LPGA’s overall​ champion and offers‌ a substantial bonus ⁢pool. Sei Young Kim‍ kept pace as much as possible, posting a 66​ with six birdies on ‌the back nine.

“Better than yesterday without a doubt,” Thitikul said with a smile. “Still not‌ had ⁤no complaints‌ with bogey free and than nine ‌birdies. So I’ll take ‍it.”

Somi Lee,‍ who led after the first round with⁤ a 64,⁤ struggled with a 70 and now trails by ‍four shots, alongside Nasa Hataoka (67).

former University of Arkansas golfers Gaby Lopez​ and ‌Brooke Matthews also competed ‌Friday.Lopez shot a 73 and ‍is at 2-under 142, while Matthews carded a 74 and is at 1-under 143.
