Spotify Now Lets Users import Playlists From Rivals, Including YouTube Music & Apple Music
Stockholm, Sweden – Spotify has launched a new feature allowing users to seamlessly transfer playlists from competing music streaming services directly into their Spotify libraries. The update, initially previewed earlier this year, rolled out this week and aims to attract new users and retain existing ones in a competitive market.
The functionality is integrated directly within the Spotify app. Users can access the import tool by navigating to Your Library, scrolling to the bottom, and selecting the Import music option. Spotify supports transfers from a variety of platforms, including:
- Apple Music
- YouTube Music
- Amazon music
- iTunes
- KlingenCloud
- Last.FM
- Pandora
- and more…
The rollout is gradual, and the feature may not be immediately available to all users. Spotify confirmed the transfer is free and doesn’t require a premium subscription.
While Spotify offers unlimited playlist imports, users who opt to utilize the third-party service TuneMyMusic independently will be limited to transferring 500 songs for free, with additional songs requiring a paid transfer. However, utilizing the feature within Spotify bypasses this limitation.
