Tottenham Manager Ange Postecoglou Emphasizes⁢ Player Development ⁢Over Blockbuster Signings

London – Tottenham Hotspur manager ⁢Ange ⁢postecoglou has stated the club‍ will prioritize developing players rather than pursuing expensive, high-profile signings in the manner of rivals like Arsenal,‍ despite recent significant investment. Postecoglou believes‌ sustained success⁣ isn’t solely reliant on ⁢£60m, £70m, ‌or even⁢ £90m transfer fees.

“If you can develop players, not all⁤ of them should cost £60m,£70m,£80m,£90m,whatever the amount,” Postecoglou said. “I don’t think⁢ anybody has done that. Liverpool didn’t ⁤do that to get⁣ to the top. Even [Manchester] City ‍hasn’t done that.”⁤ He highlighted‍ the importance of⁢ identifying and investing in players with potential, citing Declan Rice – ⁢who joined Arsenal at age 24 or 25 -⁤ as a positive example of strategic recruitment.

Postecoglou affirmed‌ his belief in Tottenham’s existing development capabilities, adding, “You ⁣need to be good⁢ at developing the players, which I believe we are. You⁢ also need to invest in⁣ the right potential of a player.” The ⁤manager expressed confidence in the‌ backing of the club’s new ⁢ownership, the Lewis family, who‍ recently injected £100m into Spurs with further funding expected.

The Lewis family has reportedly assured⁣ Postecoglou of their long-term⁣ commitment to the club ⁢and their desire for ‍success. “They definitely said they are all in⁢ for the club, that they want to be here for the ‍long‌ term ⁣and they want to have ⁤success,” ‍Postecoglou stated.”I’m confident they will back us to do ⁣everything we can‌ to build a prosperous club.”
