Top-25 Recruit Austin Goosby Pushes Back College Decision
Highly-rated 2026 small forward Austin Goosby has delayed his commitment proclamation, moving the date from November 14th to November 17th. The news comes as the four-star prospect nears a decision among a final four schools.
Goosby,currently ranked as the No. 23 overall player in the 2026 class by the Rivals Industry Ranking, had previously set Friday as the day he would reveal his college choice.He is now expected to announce his decision on Monday. His list of finalists includes Baylor, BYU, Duke, and Texas.
The 6-foot-5 senior from Melissa High School (TX) has emphasized the importance of strong interaction and a family-like atmosphere in his search for the right program. “I’ll be looking for a school that communicates well,” Goosby said in a previous interview with Rivals. “Someone who reaches out a lot and keeps me involved. Just a school that is like a family, where I have a relationship with, and I can trust the coaches.”
Goosby has consistently showcased his all-around game throughout the summer and fall. At the EYBL Memphis event in May, he averaged 16.3 points and 5.0 assists, highlighted by a 23-point, 10-rebound performance. Jamie Shaw of Rivals noted his “intriguing length” and “intriguing passing chops” at the event.
He also impressed at the NBPA Top-100 Camp in Rock Hill, SC, demonstrating a ”smooth jump shot” and the ability to contribute as both a scorer and facilitator, finishing with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in one game. Goosby described himself as “an overall scorer” who “can facilitate, create for other players, and…get my teammates involved,” adding that he’s focused on “talking more on the court” and “communicating in general.”
