WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Georgetown Hoyas (2-0) will face the Binghamton Bearcats (0-3) tonight at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.Tip-off is scheduled for a time to be persistent, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Dan Kolko and Martin Bahar on the call. Fans can also listen on Team 980 AM (Rich Chvotkin) and the Sirius XM app (983).
This contest marks the first-ever meeting between the two programs. While a new rivalry isn’t brewing, the game carries significance for Georgetown as a key tune-up before a challenging road game against Clemson. A win would give the Hoyas their best start since 2019. Georgetown is heavily favored, with KenPom analytics giving them a 98% chance of victory and projecting an 83-61 scoreline. DraftKings sets the line at Georgetown -27.5, with an over/under of 142.5.
Binghamton enters the game with three newcomers averaging double figures. Demetrius Lilley (transfers from LaSalle and Penn State) leads the team with 15.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game, having recorded two double-doubles in losses to Syracuse and Niagara. Zyier Beverly, a former JUCO player, boasts an impressive 82.4% field goal percentage (14 of 17), while george Mason transfer Jeremiah Quigley averages 10.7 points and a team-high five assists.
Georgetown will be looking to improve its 3-point shooting, currently at 19.6%-with Malik Mack being the only player to have made more than one three-pointer this season. A stronger performance from beyond the arc would be a positive sign heading into the Clemson matchup. Interestingly, Binghamton previously employed Georgetown assistant Kevin Broadus after the Hoyas’ 2007 Final Four run.
