Ligue 1 & 2 Disciplinary Roundup: Rosenior, Polizzi, and Multiple Clubs Face Sanctions
PARIS – November 12, 2025 – RC Strasbourg Alsace manager Liam Rosenior has been handed a one-match suspension effective immediately, following unspecified misconduct during OSC Lille‘s match on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Teh ban prohibits rosenior from all sideline activity, access to the referees’ locker room, and participation in official functions.
The disciplinary action comes amid a broader wave of sanctions levied by Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) against coaches, players, and supporters across Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. AS Monaco physical trainer Alexandre Polizzi also received a one-match suspension, effective immediately, stemming from his behaviour during the November 8, 2025 match against RC Lens. These suspensions highlight the LFP’s commitment to maintaining order and sportsmanship within french professional football.
Further penalties include match suspensions for LOSC Lille’s Benjamin Andre, and Olympique Lyonnais’ Tyler Morton, both triggered by accumulation of yellow cards – specifically, a fifth warning across Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophée des Champions competitions. Their suspensions will begin on Tuesday,November 18,2025,at 00:00.
Fan behavior also drew important LFP response. FC Metz was ordered to partially close the East stand of the Saint-Symphorien stadium for two suspended matches due to the use of pyrotechnic devices, disruptive oral expressions, and incidents in the stands during their October 29, 2025, match against RC Lens. Montpellier Hérault SC faces a similar partial closure – of the Étang de Thau stand at the Mosson stadium – for one suspended match, also related to pyrotechnic use during their November 28, 2025, Ligue 2 BKT game against Clermont Foot 63. Stade de Reims will partially close the Jonquet stand at the Auguste-Delaune stadium for a suspended match following observed inappropriate oral expressions from their supporters during the November 1, 2025, match against USL Dunkirk.
