Seoul, South Korea – November 12, 2025 – Yeo Han-gu, head of the Trade Negotiation Headquarters at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and energy, announced today plans for a new initiative to boost K-consumer goods exports, leveraging the global popularity of the korean Wave. The plan, slated for release before the end of the year, aims to establish K-consumer goods as a meaningful new driver of export growth for South Korea.
Director Yeo revealed the plans during a visit to the Musinsa Standard Seongsu branch in Seoul, where he inspected K-fashion export operations and met with distribution company representatives. The initiative comes as exports of Korean consumer products surge alongside the increasing international reach of K-culture.
The government will focus on strengthening marketing support for K-consumer goods, connecting promotions with major events like Korean Wave expos and K-pop concerts. Distribution platforms leading market trends will be central to developing these support strategies.

Collaboration with KOTRAS international trade offices will provide customized logistics infrastructure and consulting services regarding overseas certifications, including halal standards.
The plan also includes measures to revitalize online platforms and support the growth of Korean distribution companies into global players, assisting with establishing global malls, connecting with local logistics partners, and navigating customs and certification processes.
