Canon Unveils EOS R6 Mark III and New RF 45mm F1.2 Lens
TOKYO,JAPAN - Canon today announced the EOS R6 Mark III full-frame mirrorless camera alongside the RF 45mm F1.2 STM lens, bolstering its RF mount system with enhanced performance and a compact, fast prime option. The new camera and lens are slated for release on November 20th.
The launches address the growing demand for professional-grade imaging tools in increasingly diverse content creation workflows. The EOS R6 Mark III builds upon its predecessor with notable upgrades to autofocus,processing power,and video capabilities,while the RF 45mm F1.2 STM provides photographers and videographers with a lightweight, high-performance lens ideal for portraits, low-light shooting, and cinematic depth-of-field effects. This dual release reinforces Canon’s commitment to the RF mount as a leading platform for innovation in interchangeable lens cameras.
The EOS R6 mark III will be priced at 2,899 euros, and the RF 45mm F1.2 STM will retail for 499 euros.
The RF 45mm F1.2 STM lens distinguishes itself with its radiant F1.2 aperture and remarkably light weight of just 346 grams. This combination allows for extraordinary low-light performance and a shallow depth of field, creating visually striking images. A nine-blade aperture contributes to a pleasingly rounded bokeh effect. The lens features a silent STM autofocus motor and dedicated focus and control rings for seamless switching between still photography and video recording. Its minimum focusing distance is 45 centimeters.
Connectivity is built-in with 5GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1.
