Mamdani Administration to Open Public Resume Portal for All Positions
New York, NY – November 16, 2025 – Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani will launch a public resume portal on Thursday, seeking applications for positions throughout his incoming administration, including deputy mayors and commissioners. The move, announced exclusively to City & State New York, signals a broad search for talent as Mamdani prepares to take office in January.
Interested applicants can submit their resumes through https://www.transition2025.com. The portal’s launch follows Mamdani’s recent historic victory over former Gov. andrew Cuomo.
“To build a team of top talent, we need to search far and wide – which is why we are calling on New Yorkers across the five boroughs to share their backgrounds with us and join our movement to deliver a city we can afford,” said Transition Executive Director Elana leopold in a statement. “As we begin the transition to a new era, this resume portal will allow us to roll up our sleeves, hit the ground running and enact the agenda that got Zohran elected.”
Mamdani’s transition team is led by an all-women slate of seasoned officials: Leopold, former First Deputy Mayor Maria Torres-Springer, United Way of New York City President Grace bonilla, former Federal Trade commission Chair Lina Khan, and former Deputy Mayor Melanie Hartzog.
The administration is seeking candidates of all experience levels – from community organizers and policy experts to seasoned government professionals and working New Yorkers. So far, Mamdani has publicly committed to retaining Jessica Tisch as New York City Police Department commissioner.
Mamdani’s hiring decisions are expected to face scrutiny given his age and limited governing experience. Notably, his closest advisor, Elle Bisgaard-Church, was initially hired through an unsolicited submission to be his Assembly chief of staff in 2020. The incoming administration will be tasked with enacting Mamdani’s campaign promises while addressing challenges from the federal government and navigating City Hall bureaucracy.
