Amy Flaster as Chief Medical Officer, effective instantly. Dr. Flaster will report to Brian Evanko, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Cigna Group.
Dr. Flaster brings extensive clinical and leadership experience to the role, having previously served as Chief Medical Officer for ConcertoCare and leading the population health team at Health Catalyst. She also held hospital leadership positions at Mass general Brigham and continues to practice as a primary care physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
“Dr. Flaster has been a driving force behind several clinical programs that improve health outcomes and affordability for customers and clients,” the company stated. “Her leadership has helped shape the institution’s approach to integrated care, behavioral health, and digital health innovation.”
The appointment follows the departure of Dr. David Brailer, Executive Vice President and Chief Health Officer, who served since 2022. The Cigna Group recognized Dr. Brailer’s “pioneering leadership in health care” and his contributions to improving access to and value of care.
In related leadership changes,Katya Andresen,Chief Digital & Analytics Officer,will now lead the organization’s Excellence and Conversion (XT) initiatives,focused on enhancing customer engagement and driving innovation across digital,service,and clinical areas.Chris DeRosa, Head of Buisness Improvement and Innovation, has retired after more than two decades with the company, including a tenure as President of U.S. Government for Cigna Healthcare.
