Philippines Declares State of Calamity as Typhoon Kalmaegi Death Toll Surpasses 114
Cebu City, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared a state of calamity across the Philippines following the devastating impact of Typhoon Kalmaegi, one of the strongest storms to hit the nation this year. The declaration comes as the country grapples with the aftermath of widespread flooding, landslides, adn significant infrastructure damage, especially on the central island of Cebu.As of today,the official death toll stands at 114,with 127 peopel reported missing and 82 injured. Cebu province alone accounts for 71 confirmed fatalities,with local authorities reporting an additional 28 deaths not yet included in the national tally.
